A Giant Caster Plate Book that Never Was
To the best of my knowledge (and I may be wrong), Lanston never produced a separate Plate Book for the Giant Caster. How, then, can this Plate Book be? The answer is that Kylian Wrzesinski of Raky Press took the time to assemble it from the plates in the back of the Adjustments of the Giant Caster book (a different copy of which appears above). In this present form the parts lists are placed nearer to the drawings they explain; it is much easier to use. Thanks are due to Ky for taking the time to assemble this and for making it available.

The user of the caster may be interested in various charts and tables which apply to Monotype and other typecasting generally and are listed in ../../../../../ Noncomposing Typecasters -> General Literature about Machine Typecasting -> General Machine Typecasting Practices -> Charts and Tables.
The book Adjustments of the Giant Caster was, in this edition, copyright 1953 by the Lanston Monotype Machine Company. A 2009 search of the copyright renewal failed to discover a renewal, so I believe that this work lapsed into the public domain upon the expiration of this copyright in 1981.
The other Lanston Monotype books reprinted here were published in the US without copyright notice at a time when such notice was required. They therefore passed into the public domain upon initial publication. The reprints of them here remain in the public domain.
Kylian Wrzesinski's edition of the "Giant Caster Plate Book" represents additional work on his part. He has generously consented to its reproduction here. It would be ethical and responsible to ask his permission first before reprinting it for gain. http://www.rakypress.com/
