The Rolling Ball Web
An Online Compendium of
Rolling Ball Sculptures, Clocks, Etc.
By David M. MacMillan et. al.
Jeffrey Zachmann began his artistic career as a potter. His first rolling ball piece was created while he was in art school, and was in clay. Since 1993, he has been working in metal and creating beautiful rolling ball sculptures. His sculptures tend to be, from the examples I've seen, personal in scale. He exhibits and sells them at art fairs throughout the country, as well as in galleries.
An account of an interview with Zachmann by Mark Olejarczyk,
along with photos of Zachmann's work by Mark,
appears on the Rolling Ball Technology pages at:

An illustrated article from The Joplin Globe
is online at:

This article, entitled "Shake, rattle and roll Exhibit gives new meaning to term 'art movement'" describes an exhibition of Zachmann's work held at the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, 222 W. Third St., Joplin, MO. This exhibit ran through Sept. 27, 1998. This article contains two photos by Brian Shields for the Joplin Globe. This exhibit also featured work of Grant F. Kenner and Linda Stein. The two photos appear to be of Zachmann sculptures, even though they are labelled in their captions as being of Kenner sculptures.

Note: the correct spelling of Mr. Zachmann's first name is "Jeffrey," as seen on his flyers. I have misspelled it "Jeffery" elsewhere on these pages. My apologies.
